Add these free, printable words ending in -re worksheets to your phonics resources for you classroom. These pages include pictures to help students match words with meaning.
If you are looking to help your own child and new to phonics instruction, start with short vowel CVC words such as cat, dog and pot.
Words contained in these pages end with are, ere, ire, ore and ure.
Examples of these words are stare, here, fire, shore and pure.
Looking for a way to practice these words before using paper and pencil?
Challenge your children to go on a scavenger hunt in a favorite book.
They will search and create a word list sharing the words they find. They could then use this word list to make their own word search or set of scrambled words.
This set contains 15 printable pages where students will work with words ending with are, ere, ire, ore and ure. Students will complete words and color pictures while identifying the missing letters.
These pages might fit into your second or third grade word work practice.
These are not beginning phonics skills worksheets. Students should already be familiar with short vowel sounds and magic e words. Some words contain digraphs so it is helpful that students have worked with these as well.
When creating my worksheets, my goal is always to provide you with pages that will engage students. Many of the pages include mazes or other small activities to add a little fun for children.
The goal of these little extras is to help keep children engaged. I know that many are learning in new environments right now and every little bit can help!
