I love write the room activities for the classroom! Have you tried them before?
If you aren’t familiar with them, they are a wonderful way to weave movement into learning. They can be used as a morning entry task or as a literacy center activity.
If you try this one and your kids love them, they are even an easy resource to create yourself. You can make different themes to fit your current classroom focus.
There are two sets of cards you can choose from.
The first set is simply black and white with 12 words on a page.
The second set is two pages. It has a word with a picture.
Whichever set you choose to use, you will print the cards on card stock and then laminate for durability. Next, cut apart the cards.
You will place the cards around the room.
Provide your students with a recording form. There are different options so you can choose which fits your whole class. Or, you an scaffold the work by providing a recording pages that meet the needs of each student.
Have students use a clipboard and pencil to search for the words around the room.
