For those just beginning, vowel teams are pairs of vowels that work together. For these pages, I am focusing on vowel teams that make a long vowel sound.
These pages contain words with the following vowel teams: ai, ay, ea, ee, ie, oa, oe, ue and ui.
Practice with Vowel Team Words
Because some of these words require students to memorize the teams in word – such an knowing when to use an ee and when to use an ea, you could add labels to the room.
Around your classroom or around your home, write words on cards and label objects. For example, you could write “fruit” where you normally keep your fruit. You could label a bookshelf with the word “read”.
