These reading mazes: vowel team paths will be a fun addition to your word work and phonics resources for practicing words containing vowel teams.
Please make sure to message me if you are looking for a reading maze set I haven’t completed yet.
Children think of mazes as a type of game so adding a maze to your word work can make it seem like more fun than work!
This specific set of phonics mazes focuses on words containing vowel teams.
Unsure of what vowel teams are? Start here! (If you already know, skip to the end for your free download.)
Vowel teams are sounds that work together to form a long vowel sound although children are able to stretch out the sound to hear both letters.
These mazes will provide your children with practice with words containing long vowel pairs. The vowel teams included are: ai, ea, oa, ue, oi, ee, oe and ui.
There are a total of 7 pages for students to use when practicing their phonics skills.
Along with the directions identifying the vowel teams each page focuses on, you will also find a picture clue that contains the vowel team.
To complete the task, students will start at the top picture and color the first square. Children will then find the path by coloring the noted vowel team words. Their goal is to reach the picture at the end of the maze.
Students simply need a crayon, colored pencil or marker to play.
