These free gingerbread mazes are a fun addition to your gingerbread focus in the classroom.
I love focusing on gingerbread stories in December. They are a fun way to involve something festive that does not have the theme of a specific holiday.
Also, gingerbread stories make it easy to address many standards related to fairy tales.
Best of all, children love studying different version of this fairy tale so it’s always engaging.
Children look at mazes as a type of game or something fun for them to do.
However, did you know that there are also many benefits to having children complete mazes?
Mazes help children work on hand eye coordination. Their brains must communicate with their hands in order to stay within the paths.
Also, fine motor skills are practiced when completing a maze.
Finally, mazes offer practice with problem solving.
So while children might few mazes as an all fun activity, you can use them at home or school to weave in important skills.
This set contains a cover page you can use to make maze practice books for children.
There are a total of 15 mazes. You will want to look and see which fit your students the best.
Some are very easy and others offer a bit more of a challenge.
Along with traditional mazes, you will find some tangled paths where children have to follow the tangled line from the start to the finish.
