Download this challenging synonym color key set for your 4th through 6th graders to use when practicing writing skills.
This is another free set for teachers and homeschool families from www.freewordwork.com.
With my students, we are often talking about good word choice. I am trying to help them get away from always using everyday words such as said and big.
These color key pages will present them with other words they might use instead.
Before completing these pages, you might have students brainstorm lists of synonyms.
One day you might provide a piece of chart paper with the word said. Students will fill the page with more creative words to use instead. You can repeat this each day with a new word.
This set contains a total of five pages for practice.
Students will use the key at the top to help them find and color each space.
I’ve also included answer keys for easy checking.
