Apple season arrives in September as we are getting ready to transition to fall.

It’s a fun theme for classrooms – it provides the opportunity for teachers to weave science, math and other subjects together into an engaging unit of study. Add in a few of your favorite apple books.

Children often enjoy apple tasting where you can work on the five senses and using descriptive langague.

You might plan a cooking lesson where children use apples to try out new recipes.

Other ideas for an apple focus include apple stamps and making patterns using different colors of apples.
